the invasion of the Ryukyus, Coast Guard Commander Jack Dempsey and war
correspondent Ernie Pyle refresh themselves with cups of water from a water
bag on a coral island in the South Pacific. Commander Dempsey participated in
the recent Okinawa Operation and Pyle was there to write about the common
soldiers and seamen in that bold strike only 325 miles from the JAPANESE home
