marching up to join In the attack on the Germans on the Salerno shore. Coast
Guard Manned landing craft that brought them ashore are visible in the
background. As the troops move forward they pass a fellow soldier returning
from the battle- on a stretcher, Coast Guardsmen manned the landing craft and
