Macarthur's invasion forces struck the beaches of Lingayen Gulf. A young boy
drives the slow moving beast, while members of his family who escaped the
heavy firing walk alongside, a Coast Guard combat photographer, going in
with the first wave, caught this picture of the sad natives in the struggle
