The Steel Competition consists of
four timed stages; each stage has a target array of steel
plates that are engaged by each shooter for five consecutive
runs. The highest time for each stage is discarded and the
lowest overall time in each class wins.
Competition Schedule:
1st Saturday of each month. Registration at 8:45, Safety
Briefing at 9:15 & commence shooting @ 9:30. Shooters must
attend Safety Briefing to be eligible to shoot.
Classes: Classes include rim fire
and center fire pistols and revolvers. Pistol caliber rifles
in .22LR to .45 APC may also be entered. NO HOLLOW POINT
AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED for center fire weapons. Entrance
fee is $10.00 per shooter, for one gun only.
Shooting the Match: 22 Cal pistols
begin from the low ready position, center fire weapons may
start from the low ready, or be drawn from an approved outside
the belt holster, subject to safety approval (Small Of The
Back, Cross-Draw and Shoulder Holsters are NOT permitted).
Five magazines are recommended or higher capacity magazines
may be utilized. Depending on shooter accuracy, approximately
125 founds are required for the competition.
